Finished
doll measures 4-1/2” tall.
Note: At the end of each
row, I have given the
number of stitches you should have.
If
you are off by a few, don’t worry about it.
Amigurumi
is very forgiving.
Abbreviations:
ch
chain
sc

Materials:
1
ball of
Lion Suede yarn (or any thick and quick yarn)
Crochet hook size F (4.5mm)
Safety eyes (or contrasting yarn to
embroider facial
features)
Stuffing
Yarn needle
Head
and body:
Row
1: Leaving a long
tail, ch. 4, join with sl st into first chain to form a ring. Work 10 sc into
center ring and around
tail. Do not join. Pull
the tail to close the hole in the
ring. Mark the
beginning of the row. From
this point on, you will be working in
the round. 10 st.
Row 2:
2 sc
in each
sc around, 20 st.
Row 3:
1 sc
in each
sc around, 20 st.
Row 4:
*1
sc in next
sc, 2 sc in next sc*, repeat from * to * around, 30 st.
Rows
5-7: 1 sc in
each sc around, 30 st.
Row
8: *1 sc in next
2 sc, work next 2 sc together*, repeat from * to * around, ending with
1 sc in last 2 sc, 23 st.
Add
eyes, nose, and mouth now. 15mm
safety
eyes are placed in row 5, 3 sc
apart. Nose is
placed one row down from
eyes in the center. Mouth
is placed one
row down from nose and one sc over to the right, embroidering across 2
sc.
Row
9: *1 sc in next
2 sc, work next 2 sc together*, repeat from * to * around, ending with
1 sc in the last 3 stitches. 18 st.
Rows 10-14:
1
sc in
each sc around, 14 st.
Bottom of body:
Row
1: Create Magic
Ring as above, 10 st.
Row 2:
2 sc
in each
sc around, 20 st. Join
and end, leaving
a long tail for sewing.
Ears (make 2):
Row 1:
Leaving
a long
tail, ch. 4, join with sl st into first chain to form a ring. Work 8 sc in the center of
the ring. Pull tail
to close hole. Ch.
1, turn.
Row 2:
*1
sc in next
sc, 2 sc in next sc*, repeat from * to * around.
Join
and end, leaving a long tail for sewing.
Arms and legs:
Row
1: Ch.
5. work 1 sc in 2nd ch from
hook and in each ch across. Ch.
1, turn.
Row 2: 1 sc in each
sc across. Join and end, leaving a long
tail for sewing.
Finishing:
Shaping arms and legs: Attach
the yarn needle to the
tail. Sew in and
out across the short
side of the rectangle. Pull
to gather
the stitches together. Continuing
with
the same yarn, hold the arm (or leg) closed and sew down the length of
it. Join with sl st. Continue
using the same yarn to attach the
arms and legs to the body.
Shaping ears:
Attach
the yarn needle to the tail. Position
flat
side of ear against the head where you want it.
As
you sew the ear to the head, gently push both sides together to give
the ears a bit of a curve. Repeat
for
other ear.
Finishing:
Sew bottom to
bottom of body, leaving a 2”
gap for stuffing. Stuff
head and body
firmly and sew gap closed.
